To coincide with the smoking ban, The Red Dog Pub Company hired Sammon Building Contractors to design and build attractive beer gardens at The Queens Arms in Horsforth and The Princess at Rawdon.
Both pubs had land at the back that had the potential to be transformed into attractive outdoor seating areas. We set about looking at a number of options that would be easy to maintain whilst maximising the available space.
During the summer months, the sun shines on the back of The Princess all day so we decided to incorporate some planted areas and flower beds into this design. After the site was cleared, we levelled the ground and paved the whole area with two-tone (name) flags.
Shortly after completing the work, the pub beat off competition from across the UK to be crowned 'The Best Beer Garden' at The Great British Pub Awards!!
